Scope

FocusTrain (“the app”) respects your privacy. This policy describes information processing in the app, its related help websites and support communications.

The app has no separate account registration. Core focus timing works offline. Purchases, restoring purchases and iCloud sync require Apple services and a network connection. Other third-party services have their own privacy policies.

At a glance

We do not collect your focus records through a server operated by us, or use them for ads or profiling. Data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud. Basic data syncs automatically; history sync is controlled by the switch. With an active Pro entitlement, basic data (such as route and special-train progress and achievements) syncs automatically through Apple’s iCloud service. Focus records and timeline history sync only when the history sync switch in the app’s settings is enabled, and also require an active Pro entitlement.

02

Information We Process

The app does not ask you to provide the developer with your name, phone number, email, location or advertising identifiers. It does not use advertising or analytics SDKs to profile your activity.

Data processed on your device

  • Focus session duration, dates and statistics; route and special-train progress, city collections, achievements and tickets.
  • Preferences such as carriage mode, sounds and wallpaper, and ticket images you generate.
  • System-provided tokens representing app, website or category selections in whitelist mode, used to manage restrictions on your device.

Local data may also be used in the App Group shared storage for widgets and Live Activities. Data meeting the conditions below syncs through Apple to your own iCloud, without being sent to a server operated by us.

Support and website visits

The website uses an essential language-preference cookie to remember your manual choice of Chinese or English across the main site and help center. It is not used for advertising or behavioral tracking. It lasts one year and can be cleared in your browser. On a first visit, the site uses the preferred language reported by your browser.

When you email us or send feedback, we process the contact details, description, screenshots and order information you voluntarily provide, to reply and investigate the issue. Please do not send passwords, full payment details or unrelated sensitive information.

When you visit vebnova.com or focustrain.vebnova.com, the web server records routine access logs, such as IP address, requested path, time, status code and browser information, for website operation and troubleshooting. These logs do not contain focus records from the app.

App Group storageLocal data for widgets, Live Activities and restrictionsNo remote access

iCloud sync

Basic data syncs automatically; history sync is controlled by the switch. With an active Pro entitlement, basic data (such as route and special-train progress and achievements) syncs automatically through Apple’s iCloud service. Focus records and timeline history sync only when the history sync switch in the app’s settings is enabled, and also require an active Pro entitlement.

Turning off history sync keeps local history and previously uploaded cloud copies. New history changes stop syncing automatically; basic data continues to sync. When Pro access expires, the app stops cloud sync and keeps local data.

Synced data is stored in your own Apple Account and uses your iCloud storage. Completion depends on your account, network, available storage and system scheduling. Check the sync status and errors in Settings, and keep any backups you need.

iCloud data is protected by your Apple Account and Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot read, export or recover your private cloud data for you. Use system backups to protect important data.

04

System Permissions

The app requests system permissions only for the relevant feature. Refusing or revoking a permission affects that feature. Settings locations vary by iOS version.

Permission / system serviceWhen usedPurpose and control
NotificationsWhen focus-end reminders are neededLocal notifications; disable in system notification settings
Live ActivitiesWhen enabled (iOS 16.1 or later)Progress on the Lock Screen and supported Dynamic Island; can be disabled
Add to PhotosWhen you choose “Save to Photos”Save the ticket you generated; permission can be refused
Screen Time (Family Controls)When enabling whitelist restrictions (iOS 16 or later)Restrict selected apps or websites; system authorization can be revoked
iCloudWhen Pro sync conditions are met and system iCloud is availableRules are described above; the app switch controls history, and you manage system iCloud settings

The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, health, Bluetooth, local network or App Tracking Transparency permission.

05

Subscriptions and Payments

Pro subscriptions, lifetime access and other in-app purchases use Apple’s App Store purchase system.

  • Apple handles your payment method, billing address and billing information. The developer does not receive them.
  • The app receives information such as product, transaction, expiration and revocation status from Apple to validate, deliver and restore access. It does not include your name, card number or billing address.
  • Access is verified on the device using StoreKit or local receipt validation. Receipts are not uploaded to a server operated by us. Purchases, restoration and status updates may communicate with Apple services.
  • Apple handles cancellation, refunds and billing: Manage subscriptions / Request a refund.
06

Third Parties and Sharing

We do not sell or rent your focus records or send them to a server operated by us for advertising or profiling.

ComponentPurpose
StoreKit / TPInAppReceiptApple purchases and transaction or receipt validation on the device
CloudKit / Core DataLocal storage and sync to your own iCloud
ActivityKit / WidgetKitLive Activities and Home Screen widgets
Family Controls / ManagedSettings / DeviceActivityWhitelist and focus restrictions under system authorization

The app has no advertising, behavioral analytics, third-party crash reporting or social sign-in SDKs. Apple’s privacy policy applies to Apple services. If disclosure is required by law, we disclose only information we actually hold, within the legally required scope.

07

Data Security

Local data relies on the iOS app sandbox and system data protection. Apple’s security mechanisms protect communication and storage for iCloud and purchases. We do not operate an interface for remotely reading your focus records.

Security measures cannot eliminate every risk. Protect your device passcode and Apple Account, keep your system updated and back up important data.

08

Your Controls

  • View: See records and progress on the app’s statistics and journey pages.
  • Change: Adjust the preferences that the app allows you to edit.
  • Limit: Turn off history sync or manage iCloud, notifications, Live Activities and Screen Time authorization in system settings. Turning off history sync does not stop basic data sync.
  • Back up or delete: Use iOS system backups or follow the next section. The app currently has no data-file export or one-tap clear-all-records control.

For information you voluntarily provide to support, contact vebnova@163.com to ask questions, correct it or request deletion, except where retention is legally required.

09

How to Delete Your Data

  • Delete local data: Use iOS “Delete App” to remove FocusTrain and its local data. “Offload App” keeps documents and data and does not delete them. Deleting the app does not automatically delete previously uploaded iCloud data.
  • Manage or delete iCloud data: In iOS Settings, open iCloud storage management and manage or delete the FocusTrain data listed by the system. The exact controls depend on the system’s current interface. Old data may be uploaded again if another device still has it and continues syncing.
Check your backup first

Deletion may be irreversible, and we cannot recover your data for you. Copies in system backups must be managed separately in the corresponding backup settings.

Deleting the app or data does not cancel a subscription

Use Apple’s subscription management to cancel subscriptions.

10

Children and Young Users

The app is not specifically offered to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Young users should use the app and read this policy with a guardian.

If a guardian believes we inadvertently received a child’s information through support, please contact us. We will investigate and address it promptly.

11

Policy Updates

We will revise this policy and update its effective date when features or information practices change. Material changes will also be communicated through an in-app notice or release notes. Revisit this page for the latest details.
